Brief History Selling insurance policies part-time, Katz began as a small business at a dining room table back in 1972. As the agency excelled at its services and attracted many customers, the business began to grow quickly. Many additional locations were founded and opened throughout Maryland. Katz Insurance Agency incorporated in November 1974, and became the largest personal-line insurance agency specializing in standard and non-standard automobile insurance in Maryland. Katz has maintained its leadership in the industry by offering low down payments, easy payment plans, and by staying vigorously compliant on all the regulatory and legislative insurance measures proposed in the state.
