Spent $140 on a pea coat. Upon the first wearing, I discovered that there were holes in both slash pockets.When I tried to exchange it t he woman working the register (one of the owners I believe) told me it was too strange to have holes in both pockets and she wouldn't take it back. I agreed it was strange to purchase ostensibly new but damaged merchandise and that's why I wanted to exchange the coat. She told me I could have the holes repaired "for a couple of dollars." I told her H & H and I wouldn't be doing business anymore. Unless you want to get stuck with faulty merchandise, you shouldn't, either.

A must-visit Baltimore landmark, great eclectic collection of outdoor-related stuff. I for one love the cranky owner and his capricious return policy, they both serve to keep out the REI riff-raff that would otherwise spoil the atmosphere.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!! I went to purchase my first tent from what I was told was their "expert" sales staff...only to be lied to and "sold" on a tent that was a piece of junk...when I nicely tried to inquire about a return (after basically cutting my trip short and only actually using the tent for 1 day) or more information on what i could do about the tent, I was not only quickly ushered out of the store, but told that I could not return it eventhough I was told by the very RUDE counterperson that "if you have a problem bring it back as long as you have the recipt"...the tent was less than 5 days old... NEVER AGAIN...DO NOT SHOP THERE..THEY WILL SAY WHAT EVER THEY NEED TO TO MAKEA SALE!!!!!!
