Welcome to the Ava School Community where students enter to learn, gain knowledge, experience, and application. Students are prepared to leave and succeed in the either the workforce, college, vocational training, or the military. Ava Schools have a proud tradition of excellence. The Ava School District is classified by MSHSAA as a 3A/4A school affiliated with the SCA (South Central Association) Conference. Ava R-1 Schools is accredited with Distinction in Performance, and the district was recently awarded a 1.99 million FEMA Grant to build a storm shelter / performing arts center and additional classrooms. The school system is working towards a learning community approach where teachers hold high expectations and refuse to allow students to fail. The effort to move the district in this direction focuses on a strong emphasis in continuous school improvement, encouraging collaboration among teachers to plan effectively for student instruction and a concentration on curriculum, instruction and assessment for both regular and special needs students. We are continually working to find new and innovative ways to provide opportunities for students to reach levels of success in their coursework.
