A Project of Samaritans Purse Oksana Nelson A Simple Shoe Box Gift Changed Her Life My orphanage was in a small village Northeast of Mos-cow, in a poor area of Russia. But one day that changed when a simple shoe box gift taught me to trust and hope. I remember the day people came to my orphanage to deliver shoe box gifts from Operation Christmas Child. We were so excited to have visitors. Love, care and attention were foreign things to me. I remember we were all given our own shoe box gift. Opening the lid of my shoe box gift was overwhelm-ing. The box was packed full of items! Looking back, I recog-nize they were simple items like a tooth brush and tooth-paste. But back then, when I had nothing to call my own, each item meant so much. What my heart remembers most is a photo that came in the box. The photo was so meaningful to me, because I felt like these people cared about me even though they didn't know me. At age 10, I was adopted by a family and moved to California. Since then, every year I pack shoe box gifts with my family. Please join us for an opportunity to hear the rest of Oksanas heart warming story! SAVE THE DATE! Come and meet Oksana! Bring your family and friends and hear a wonderful story of Gods amazing love!
