Destiny Church began as a Bible study in 1977. In 1980, Steve and Trish felt that God told them to move to Ashby and start a church. The ministry bought a farmhouse on 13 acres near Ashby. People started coming to Christ and their lives were turned around. As the church grew, the farm house was filled to capacity. In the beginning, the church was named Country Bible Church. Recently in 2011, to reflect more of who we are, the name was changed to Destiny Church. After seeking God's wisdom through prayer, it was decided that we should build a sanctuary onto the existing farmhouse. We broke ground in the fall of 1982, this new addition seated 100 people. The building was completed and every bill was paid in full. Over the next 10 years, our church built 2 more major additions, including a new sanctuary to seat 300, and a 7,000 square foot children's auditorium. As a result of God's faithfulness, all was paid for by completion. Since our beginning, over 30 years ago, thousands of people have joined us for special meetings, camps, and marriage retreats, to have their lives touched by the power of God. We have seen all ages saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit, healed, and freed from life-long bondages. In 1996, plans were made to build a center where kids can experience the power of God. In October 2000, the Destiny Center opened its doors. It is called the Destiny Center because we believe that every child has a destiny and that it can only be realized by knowing God. Over the years, Destiny Church expanded in mission outreaches around the world. The ministry of Destiny Church also includes the following: church planting, Country Bible Christian academy for grades K-12, Ambassadors for Christ Training Center for those who feel called by God into ministry, television, radio, mission trips, home Bible studies and fellowships. This has been a journey of faith. We believe our greatest days are yet ahead.
