Pet Groomery is a grooming salon located in Albuquerque, NM. We have been in business for over 25 years with the same business manager/ groomer for over 20 years. We specialize in large breeds and hand scissor finishing. All grooming includes: Bathing, Hand drying, Ears cleaned, Anal glands drained, Scissor finishing, Nails clipped. We have a large clientele of happy cats too. All prices quoted are an estimate until we see the size of your pet and condition of your pet's coat. We've been using this business for several years for our Shih Tzu, Oreo. They are pleasant, very experienced, and helpful. As our dog has aged, they've treated him accordingly so that his visit was comfortable & productive.
I have a standard poodle that takes a lot of brushing and trimming. I am new to Alb and was worried about which shop to go to until a neighbor recommended Pet Groomery. I tried them and couldn't be happier. I thought I was getting good grooming in the past but I didn't know how beautiful my girl could look. The manager, Olga, was wonderful and explained how long it would take for the grooming because standard poodles take a long time, which I understood. I want everyone to know how great they are. I will never change groomers again.
When will business owners and employees alike learn that 1st impressions DO matter to potential customers?I called to get a price on grooming for my dogs. The woman who answered didn't even identify the business until I asked if it was The Pet Groomery. I thought I must have mis-dialed due to her curt "hello?" greeting. She seemed impatient and annoyed that I was calling. We all have lives and get busy at work, but you should never take it out on customers. Despite the fact that I think their prices are high, I probably would have used them had I recieved courteous treatment on the phone. They certainly dont seem to need the business based on the womans holier than thou attitude. So I'll take my business where it's appreciated.
I have 3 dogs- each with very distinct personalities. Harry is the most interesting. He is an adopted tiny boy with a BIG attitude. Not easy to deal with and don't get near him with water. Stuart is afraid of clippers and brushes- an older lab/collie mix, and Friends is my grumpy old man. He is the oldest in the bunch. Not only is it difficult to get the 3 of those boys bathed, groomed, brushed, etc. But they don't like being away from me too much either. The old place I used to take them took all day and they stayed in kennels! The ladies at The Pet Groomery made my dogs look beautiful, and kept them so happy and they were only away for 3 hours. Never once were they kept in cages, and they had the chance to play with other dogs too. Not to mention that most of the time I would have to take out a loan to get them looking their best- this place had a very reasonable price for all 3. Cost is important since I am a single mom and a full time student. The only place to go!!!
I bring my Persian cat in to Pet Groomery every 4-6 months to get washed and shaved. I have tried other places and Pet Groomery is the only place I'd go. They do a fantastic job of grooming my cat and there are no nicks or cuts as they have to shave him pretty close. The last time I went somewhere else, my poor baby came home with cuts and bleeding. I highly recommend this place.
This is my first review...but the most important one that I've ever done. DO NOT GO TO THE PET GROOMERY!!! I took my Malamute X to get a routine shampoo and brush-out. When I picked her up she was still wet. I took her home and blowdryed her as best as I could (thats why I take her to a groomer!). It turns out that I had to take her to a vet for a skin infection that originated at the salon. Hotspots! After the visit to the vet, antibiotics, and a special skin cream, I ended up paying about $300. Added to the pain/suffering that my baby was in, I CANNOT forgive this place. When I called to let them know about the situation, they COMPLETELY blew me off. Take my advice and take your baby to a place that cares! (I gave them a "1" only because I couldn't give them a "Zero!").
