24 Hour Fitness Could Stand to Pay More Attention to Details

24 Hour is not a bad workout place. It has all kinds of equipment and classes. The staff is friendly and outgoing, and the trainers really know their job. But its a big corporation and like most big corporations it doesn't seem to care very much about its customers. I have submitted written suggestions and never got a response. Broken equipment stays broken for weeks or months. The men's locker rooms need more benches. (One of those suggestions that were never acknowledged) We're almost sitting in each others laps as we change clothes. There's plenty of room for more benches, I think they're just being cheap ( I have never been in the women's locker room but assume it too lacks sufficient benches ). The lockers themselves have only 2 hooks in them. They should have 5 or 6. (1 on each wall, including the door and a double hook in the center of the top) There aren't enough hooks to hang all my clothes, necessitating throwing them into the locker where they sometimes get dirty from the mud and dirt on the bottom of the locker, left behind by footwear. Again, it seems like they went with the lowest bidder for the lockers. It would be nice if there were a public telephone in the lobby area, to make a quick call upon entering or leaving. Or is everyone expected to have a cell phone now? Holes in the parking lot remain unfilled for months. I realize 24 Hour isn't directly responsible for filling them (although a few bags of asphalt patch from Lowe's would do the job) but why isn't it hounding the landlord to fill them??? Again, it makes it seem like they don't care about their customers. The parking lot lights are on all day every day, wasting energy and contributing to global warming. For those of us who care about our environment, it is exasperating to see that every time we go there..Why doesn't management hound the landlord about getting that issue fixed as well? Again the answer is, they just don't care. The pool has WAY too much chlorine in it. I went once and my entire body itched afterwards. Showering did no good. It was IN my skin, not ON it. When it first opened the pool had salt water. I don't know why it was changed. In conclusion, there are probably better places to workout in Boulder. The best thing 24 Hour has going for it is that it is open 24 hours. I'm a nite person and like to workout in the late evening, and I got a really good deal on membership...
