The Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine is New Jersey's first school of acupuncture. Founded in 1997, the College is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), the organization sets and maintains the standards for acupuncture schools nationwide. Graduates receive a Master's in Acupuncture (M.Ac.) and are qualified for the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) exam, a prerequisite for state licensure. The Eastern School is located in the township of Bloomfield. Our central location, and proximity to major highways, provides easy access for New Jersey residents, as well as those living in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and New York.

* Acupuncture Program * Accreditation * Admissions * Financial Information * Courses * Books The Eastern School's Diploma in Acupuncture program is 2202.5 hours in length and takes three years to complete. Graduates of the program receive a Masters level Diploma. The program is designed to meet the needs of working adults. Classes meet one afternoon/evening per week and on various weekends, averaging three full weekends per month for the first two years. Clinic internship begins in the summer before the third year. Internship is 12 months long and students typically attend clinic 1 1/2 days per week. Spring and Fall incoming classes are available. The curriculum of the Eastern School is designed to reinforce theoretical concepts with practical experience to assist the adult learner in mastering a rigorous educational program. The curriculum at the Eastern School is based on exposing students, not only to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), but other styles of acupuncture including: Five Element and Japanese (Kiiko Style).

Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine is approved by the State of New Jersey, Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) to offer the degree program of Master's in Acupuncture (M.Ac.). OSHE is the licensing office of all colleges and universities of higher education in the State of New Jersey. Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine is approved by the New Jersey Acupuncture Examining Board and graduates of the ESATM program are eligible to sit for the New Jersey Acupuncture Licensing Examination.
