I have 20 years of experience one-on-one with students of all ages and abilities. Adults are especially welcome, as I am very sympathetic to the challenges of learning an instrument which are particular to adults with busy lives. All styles taught, including rock, jazz, blues, pop, punk, folk and funk. I have a very comfortable rapport with my students and have taken students from their very first lesson all the way to admission to great music schools like Berklee and the University of Miami. I strongly believe in the importance of instilling a good foundation of music theory into my students, thus enabling them to take greater control over their learning moving forward. Theory is essential to obtaining great improvisation skills as well. I have a developed my own proven method of making theory understandable for students with different learning styles. The 4 teachable elements crucial to becoming a great guitar player are reading, theory, technique, and repertoire.
