- Pediatric CareLori Swenson earned her degree in Occupational Therapy in 1994 from the University of New Hampshire. She has experience working in acute and sub-acute rehabilitation, outpatient upper extremity rehab, school systems and has been working in the area of pediatrics since 2006. Lori has certification in Early Identification and considers herself a generalist. She has experience in evaluating and treating a variety of diagnoses from treatment of the upper extremity for neurological and orthopedic challenges, fine motor coordination to include handwriting, feeding and swallowing, vision and perception, cognitive executive functions, social skills, and evaluation and training in the use of, and access to, AAC and assistive technology. Lori works with all ages from early infancy to children in their teens. Her approach to her practice as an OT is family centered; which includes therapeutic media that is always tethered to developmentally appropriate functional and purposeful goals for the child’s occupational performance in self-care, play, functional mobility, learning and socialization. Lori focuses on the ability to perform optimally in the roles the child inhabits at home, at school and in the community.
