- Eye ExamA comprehensive retinal eye examination is needed to make a diagnosis and to formulate the best treatment plan. Drops are placed in the eyes to dilate (open) the pupils. This enables Dr. Bonachea to perform a detailed exam of the retina, optic nerve and blood vessels in the back of the eye. When your pupils are dilated you can expect blurring of your vision and light sensitivity for several hours after your visit. Therefore we recommend you bring sunglasses and a driver.
