This is in response to Triston Kyle's review. This is Jake Wand, the owner. I don't even know where to start. We have been patient with you (Kyle) for the duration that you shopped with us. I did my best to educate you on the health of fish and why sicknesses occur in the fish trade. You refused to take our advice when it comes to quarantining, you refused our advice on making responsible fish selections, and you absolutely would not take any responsibility when deaths of your livestock occurred. Instead, you chose to pass the blame onto the very people who were trying to help you succeed in the hobby. The statement that we knowingly and purposely sell sick fish is absurd, and quite frankly your comment and attack on our livelihood has thoroughly pissed me off.

You were angered after we offered you $15 trade credit for a gorgonian. We sell gorgonians for $30. Our policy is we offer up to 50% credit on trade-ins. We prefer not to receive trade-ins, but we do it as a courtesy to our customers. You obviously thought it was worth more than that. You created a scene, gave the coral to a random customer who was standing near you, and stormed off. Your voicemails threatening to report us to the FBI made absoluty no sense, and you still continue to call us disguising your voice.

It's clear our products and services are not meeting your needs, please move on.

My husband and I just moved into a new home this weekend. We called around town to all of the local fish stores to get a quote on getting some help to move our fish tank. I am 8 months pregnant and found this to be a priority. River City Aquatics not only gave us the most reasonable and fair pricing, but truly went above and beyond our expectations. They handled and took care of our fish with such perfection- we are truly blown away! Not only was the staff beyond professional handling the equipment, fish, etc they went to extremes to make sure our old house and new house flooring were taken care of as well through out the process. It was completely obvious they put thought into every action before taking it. I can not thank them enough for all of their tedious and hard work to bring our fish and coral back safely into our new home. I highly recommend River City to anyone that might have questions about moving fish/tanks- they are the real deal!

The review below entitled "beware" was written by a customer who completely neglected his aquarium. There was not much we could do when he finally came to us, but we tried to help regardless. Please feel free to drop by our store sometime and see how we really take care of our customers.

I have bought several fish and corals from this store, and used to visit regularly since it was the closest to my house. Unfortunately I made the mistake of hiring them to do some maintenance on my tank. After they put about 50 pounds of UNCURED live rock in my tank, the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels all spiked, killing nearly everything in my tank. Rather than apologize, the owner then had the nerve to bar me from the store for not wanting to pay for this “service.” I will avoid them like the plague they unleashed in my tank from now on.
