Consuela, founded in 2005, is a wholesale and retail handbag | purse manufacturer headquartered in Austin, TX. Consuela is a look, a feel, a vibe… it is a way of living life. We are a synergy of celebration and inspiration, perpetuated by the desire to promote positivity and the inner longing to live a purpose driven, harmonious life. The Consuela Culture is rooted in our four pillars: Look Good, Laugh Easy, Lift the World, and Live in Color. Together, these notions are a reminder to celebrate each day, trust in your purpose, give your best self to the world and inspire greatness. In 2005, after 16 years of working in the corporate world, Conni Reed found herself vacationing in Mexico with an invigorating sense of freedom and a vision for something more. It was in this moment that she made the decision to ditch the predictability of the corporate grind and pursue a life of possibility. One year later, Consuela was born. As both founder and creative director of Consuela, Conni creates pieces that aim to tear down boundaries and inspire people to celebrate everything that makes them unique. Her designs are marked by their unconventional fusion of intense colors, eccentric patterns, rich textures and exquisite craftsmanship. Since Consuela’s conception, she has remained steadfast in her no-holds-barred design process, which has come to reflect the brand’s pursuit of “the art of the unmatched.” Conni has woven charity into the fabric of Consuela’s operations. Her passion for giving back in a way that inspires and uplifts now manifests itself in collaborations with non-profits such as DiscoverHope. In addition to working in the non-profit space, Conni also founded the Consuela Culture Club, a network of women whose mission is to celebrate individualism and all the goodness in life. Since launching in 2006, Conni has grown Consuela into a complete lifestyle brand that offers a spirited collection of quality fashion and home accessories. She continues to create new and original designs from Consuela’s flagship store in the heart of downtown Austin.
