We bought a Pomsky from Island puppies and have very mixed feelings. The process was extremely frustrating. Upon purchasing we were under the impression we would get a $200 dollar coupon for buying a full price puppy. We were then informed that was not applicable for “preordered puppies”. Then were offered free food instead that was supposed to be the equivalent of $500 dollars which come to find out was not even close! We were unable to get new pictures of puppy prior to purchase and had to place down a 1000 dollar reserve just to hold him for us. I had requested pictures of the parents as well never received those either. When we drove out to Long Island we of coarse feel in love with our puppy so even though he was not exactly what we had anticipated, and the original picture they gave us was a puppy that turned out to not even be the one we received we just couldn’t leave him behind. Also 5 year health warranty has a huge catch! You have to buy a bunch of their products that they will push on when you purchase your puppy, and if you aren’t local forget about free vet service. We were also told our Pomsky would be about 25-30lbs full grown, well low and behold he is already 20 and only a few months old and vet estimates he will be around 45! Although we love our puppy I can’t help but feel ripped off, I am not even sure he is a real Pomsky! We were way overcharged and we received no proper papers when we were told we would. I would not recommend them to a friend but do have to be grateful for our new addition can’t imagine our family without him now.

I called Greg at Island Puppies in search of a small breed pup. After being promised a cash price if I came that evening (I was told a one time deal, and not to tell anyone) I headed to my local pet supply shop to stock up on all things needed for the new pup. Since we had agreed on price I then proceeded to give my apartment complex the non refundable pet deposit required in order to bring him/her own. While in my car that evening excited to bring my new pet home, the owner who said he was on vacation called my cell phone. He was rude, arrogant, and overall a terrible business owner. He told me that Greg was wrong for promising me the price, and then proceeded to raise his voice with me due to his disappointment with his salesperson. Their website http://www.islandpuppies… claims 50% off for pre ordering puppies and if you do not pre order they have a coupon for $200.00 off. I mentioned this to John and he said to take it up with the people that make the website, however he is the owner? This makes zero sense, the owner should value their coupons and keep their website up to date. I spoke with 3 different people all of which told me different stories, had no knowledge of the puppies, and lied about their prices. The owner was the biggest disappointment, I cant believe John would run his business ripping people off and doing nothing to try and satisfy an unhappy customer. DO NOT buy a puppy from them if you expect them to honor their prices and coupons. There are plenty of puppies in need of adoption, and the owner is a horrible business person with a terrible attitude.

I didn't quite know if I should patronize this pet store, because of past publicity by people I now believe were prejudiced in their opinions. I did in fact purchase a puppy yesterday that I fell in love with. Firstly my husband commented how there was absolutely no odor; the cages clean. Secondly John was most informative, friendly and sincere. His other associate nice guy too. The puppy seems healthy and well adjusted to people and other pets, probably because of the open environment. I would def recommend to others.
