I must say I was very disappointed at how unprofessional this staff was. I experienced the same exact thing as Bonnie.



I went in for my scheduled appointment, arrived early and was told when I got there that the student had called in sick and they tried to call me.



Not only did they take my number down wrong, whether that is true or not, they may not have even called based on their attitude. I was told I needed to reschedule.



So I'm there, after taking time away from work, which I explained to them, which they could care less about, nothing was available that day which I would of been fine with.



They gave me the option to reschedule or pay full price for a different, shorter, massage. In no way did they try to make up for their mistake. I can't say that I even received a "sorry". I won't be back nor will anyone I know.

I have received services at beauty schools many times, and have always been treated wonderfully and have left more than happy with the services. However, I can not say the same for ISB in Ankeny. I made an appointment there, and not only did they write my appointment time down wrong and tell me that I had to choose one service, instead of the two I was booked for, they were extremely rude about it, and made the whole process rather humiliating. They also didn't listen as I explained over and over again that I would need both services together due to having maternity pictures scheduled in two days, and kept on asking; "so which one do you want?" after I told them I needed both or to go somewhere else. They literally had me almost in tears and kept on telling me that the whole situation was my fault. After finding out that they were not willing to provide me with the services that I had scheduled for over a week, I walked into their main entrance to call my boyfriend and explain the change of plans and problem solve what we were going to do next. I went to the front entrance away from the front desk for privacy, however, three people at the front desk literally stared at me and listened to the entire conversation, which made the whole situation even more humiliating. Before I left I asked if I could talk to a manager or professor, and they informed me that no one was there and I would have to call tomorrow. I do not believe that there would not have been a professor present if they were open and all working on hair, nails, etc. That''s not how that type of thing is supposed to work, correct? Anyway, I am so disgusted by the lack of professionalism among these students, and will be sticking to La'James or Aveda Institue from now on. I would highly encourage you to do the same if you expect to be treated with respect during your visit. Additionally, i you plan on learning good customer service skills, ISB in Ankeny looks like it's not the place to learn them. Atleast, they have not done much to teach the current students how to be professional and treat people.
