- Founded in 1904, Children's Bureau is a nonprofit agency that offers a range of child abuse prevention and treatment services throughout Southern California. It administers various parenting, foster care, adoption, counseling, tutoring, education and community referral programs. The agency s foster care and adoption programs include nurturing and behavioral, cognitive, physical and academic enrichment services for youths. Children's Bureau maintains the Parent Cooperative Child Development Center that provides innovative services for children and parents. It is approved by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. The organization is funded by the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, the UniHealth Foundation, and individuals, foundations and corporations. Children's Bureau maintains a location in Anaheim, Calif.
