Information Services Introduces the Business Center on SuperPages.comsm
Business.SuperPages.com Provides Targeted Resources for Small-
and Medium-Sized Businesses
DALLAS, Tx.
(May 10, 2002)-- Now, it's easier than ever for small- and
medium-sized businesses to find the products and services they need
online. Verizon SuperPages.com, the Internet's #1 online directory
and shopping resource, today introduced the Business Center (http://www.business.superpages.com),
an online source for tools, tips and content applicable to businesses.
In addition, the Business Center's navigational functionality highlights
business-related categories rather than traditional yellow pages
categories.
"Small- and medium-sized companies are already using SuperPages.com
to market to other businesses, to help make decisions and to locate
vendors and suppliers," said Pat Marshall, group vice president
- marketing for Verizon Information Services. "The Business Center
applies a business-minded structure to the SuperPages.com listings
and makes it easier for users to find business-focused organizations."
In
addition to a change in category listings, the Business Center offers
advertising and promotion tools and management articles such as
"Five Ways to Promote your Business Online" and "10 Ways to Motivate
Employees."
Business MerchantMatch, a request for quote capability that links
interested businesses to qualified vendors to create a buyer/seller-matching
network, is also available on the Business Center. The service helps
vendors and suppliers find new customers and drive sales. It also
helps buyers make informed purchasing decisions by allowing them
to receive multiple bids on a purchase through one online request
form.
According to @Plan, Inc. Spring 2002 Release*, Verizon SuperPages.com
users are 73 percent more likely than typical Internet users to
make a business-to-business purchase online and 65 percent more
likely to have shopped online for business-to-business needs. And,
according to Verizon SuperPages.com's 3rd Annual Small Business
Internet Survey, 70 percent of small businesses purchase goods and
services from other businesses via the Internet.
"Small businesses are the core of our nation's economy - and they
often don't have the time or resources for complex processes," added
Marshall. "The Business Center makes it easier for them to do what
they need to do to be successful and profitable."
