Verizon
Information Services Teams With iWon for SuperPages.com "Hello Summer
Sweepstakes"
DALLAS,
Tx.
(June 25, 2001)-- - Verizon Information Services, the world's
leading directory publisher, today announced that it has selected
destination portal iWon to implement a "Hello Summer Sweepstakes"
as a traffic generator for its online directory SuperPages.com.
Accessed from both iWon, the fifth most trafficked site on the Internet,
and SuperPages.com, the #1 online directory and shopping resource,
the contest asks iWon.com users to answer trivia questions using
SuperPages.com to find the answers.
The six-week sweepstakes will award a grand prize of $10,000 and
five $1,000 second-place prizes. The "Hello Summer Sweepstakes"
was strategically designed and created by iDeutsch, a division of
advertising agency Deutsch Inc., to showcase the breadth and depth
of SuperPages.com services and capabilities.
"SuperPages.com recently added a number of traffic-generating partnerships
by becoming the Yellow Pages provider for MSN, InfoSpace, Excite
and Ask Jeeves," said Patrick Marshall, group vice president - marketing
for Verizon Information Services. "This is another step in our 2001
plan to increase exposure and value to our 100,000-advertiser base."
This is the first time SuperPages.com, which sponsors a number of
holiday and seasonal contests at its site, has partnered with a
portal for a sweepstakes/contest promotion.
"iWon is excited to partner with Verizon SuperPages.com on this
sweepstakes," said Bill Daugherty, founder and co-CEO, iWon. "This
is a win-win situation as the sweepstakes provides our users with
one more way to win and helps Verizon promote SuperPages.com with
our users."
