I am middle aged female.I was seen here for unusual abnominal pain that had been constant for 4 days. I suspected a Uti even though I didn't have the usual symptoms. the doctor was nice and informative in his explanations. He poked around on my abdomen looking for tender spots. it was slightly tender in the middle but I felt the intense pain was deeper. HE suspected small bowel infection, did blood work, set me up for a ct scan and prescribed pain meds and ciproflaxicin. Blood work was ok. I told the nurse mysuspesion of uti, she gave me a cup. The urine specimen was high in protein and positive for bacteria. CT came back clean. I never got a diagnoses. I started having horrid side affects from the cipro. I called to change the antibiotic and was told I had to come get rechecked and pay $175 again. I told the lady inever got a diagnoses the first time she said it was on my discharge papers. it wasnt. she looked it up and saw no diagnoses. I have decided to stop the cipro and take amoxicillin( I had from previous problem) I don't know if it's the right thing, but im out of money. I have never heard of a doctor that wouldn't change the medication if the patient was having intolerable side effects. Ridiculous!
