PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would because that's what they deserve. I went because I have been having lots of abdominal pain. I was brought in to the room right away but that was the only positive thing in this whole experience. Without seeing a doctor, I was whisked off for ex-rays. At that point, I saw a student PA who took down my symptoms. I was given a pressure cuff and an oxygen thing on my finger (but neither were connected until almost the very end of my stay). I was asked to give a urine sample and it sat in my room for almost an hour before they came to test it. (It would've needed refrigeration at just about that point). Then I was given an abdominal ultra-sound (mind you I still haven't been seen by a doctor). About 1 hour later, a PA comes in and tells me that my gallbladder and liver are ok but I have Pancreatitis. The PA tells me that it is not life-threatening, to go see a GI specialist, and to stay off the internet. When I try to ask a few questions, she tells me that "60% of people who come to the ER don't walk away with clear answers of what they have and that they are basically here for life threatening emergencies". I sat in my room crying for a while feeling extremely overwhelmed. I then had to wait over 30 mins. to get my discharge papers and my IV thing removed. I was given a prescription for Pepsid and Ibuprofen. WOW!! You are better off staying at home and taking Advil. Basically you will have the same outcome and not be insulted while you are sick. NEVER AGAIN will I ever step foot in there or let anyone I care about go there for absolutely any reason. PS- If you decide to go, hopefully they will have cleaned the cobwebs off the center light fixture in room 2 (or 4 because they changed my room). You can stare at the cobwebs while you lay there in bed NOT being seen by a doctor. NOT KIDDING!! COBWEBS?!! How is that even possible in a US hospital?!!
