Compassionate Care!

My mom, who is now 86 yoa, was admitted few weeks ago to BryLin because she was quite depressed. she had been residing at a local nursing home, which can be depressing in itself, and she had been declining over a few weks. They had recommended sending my mom to BryLin. I didnt know much about them but was informed they had a specific older adult unit that treats the elderly who may be depressed. After much discussion, my wife and I agreed to send my mom to BryLin and what a difference it has made.

First off, the staff at BryLin are so caring and compassionate. They always made my family feel welcome whenever we came in to visit. They seemed to care for my mom with dignity and respect! Dr. Gupta, my moms psychiatrist, was always available when we had questions. He never made us feel like we were inconveniencing him, as some doctors can do, and he just had a presence about him that was calming.

My mom did quite well at the hospital and has since been discharged back to the nursing home. Dr. Gupta made some adjustments to her medications, eliminating some that seemed necessary and may have negatively contributed to her decline. My mom has been much more like herself lately and I believe it's due to the caring staff and Dr. Gupta at BryLin. I had my reservations at first about sending my mom to a psychiatric hospital but, in retrospect, it was he best thing we could have done for my mom. Thank you!
